2. Must I go to specific test centres to conduct my COVID-19 tests?
COVID-19 tests must be conducted at centres accredited by respective MOH at country of origin.
Travellers are strongly encouraged to allocate sufficient lead time when scheduling a test
appointment. For details related to the cost and administration of the test, travellers should
enquire directly with the clinic.
Upon arrival in Malaysia, MySejahtera users can click the “Health Facilities” icon in the MySejahtera
app main page for the list of health facilities.
3. What type of COVID-19 tests are accepted for travel to Malaysia?
All travellers must undergo a COVID-19 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test.
Only PCR test that is taken at an internationally or nationally accredited or recognised laboratory,
clinic, or medical facility recognised by the Ministry of Health of the country of origin is accepted.
Travellers who were detected positive between 6 – 60 days before arrival should take a professionally
administered or supervised COVID-19 antigen rapid test.
For countries which have bilateral agreement with Malaysia, type of COVID-19 test may differ for
different types of travel (air, land, sea).
As of 1st April, other COVID-19 tests from the following countries are accepted for entry into
Malaysia:
• Singapore - Travellers from Singapore by air can take a professionally administered or
supervised COVID-19 antigen rapid test within two (2) days of departure from Singapore.
Travellers from Singapore by land do not need to take any test.
4. Do I need to book and make payment for on-arrival COVID-19 tests prior to
departure?
Travellers are encouraged to book their on-arrival COVID-19 tests with the respective private
health care facilities offering the tests prior to departure. Or they may do their booking after they
arrive, as long as the test is done within 24 hours of arrival.
Travellers need not show proof of on-arrival COVID-19 test booking and payment
