RATIONAL
Health literacy communication transformation focuses on communication for social and
behavioral change, encompassing efforts to address social stigma, encourage public
engagement, foster health literacy skills, strengthen effective communication channels,
promote collaboration and partnerships, and implement evidence-based communication
strategies. Effective communication transformation can empower individuals, reduce barriers
to health information, and promote active involvement in health interventions.
Implementing social and behavioral change communication in health promotion can address
misconceptions, lack of information, risk perceptions, and lack of trust in health behaviors,
healthcare services, or products among the public, healthcare providers, and policymakers.
DESIRED RESULTS
Success in the transformation of health communication from the context of health literacy involves
the development and implementation of strategic communication plan, enhancing engagement and
interaction, and collaborating with key stakeholders to create joint solutions. Collaborating together
is crucial in establishing clear communication objectives, identifying target groups and appropriate
communication channels, and measuring communication outcomes in each implementation activity
that supports health literacy. With these achievements, communication efforts can effectively provide
information, educate, and empower individuals to make informed decisions about their health and
well-being.
